Meet Karen
Specialising in Grief, Health-Related Challenges, and Emotional Overwhelm
If life feels emotionally demanding right now โ as though the world is asking more of you than you can give โ youโre not alone.
Many people I work with feel worn down by stress, anxiety, low mood, or a quiet sense of having lost themselves along the way. You might be living with grief or loss, navigating serious health challenges such as cancer, supporting someone you love as a carer, or simply feeling exhausted and unsure how to keep going.
Often, there isnโt one single cause- just a gradual build-up of emotional strain that becomes harder to carry alone.
I offer a compassionate, confidential space where you can talk openly, feel understood, and begin to feel steadier, more grounded, and more like yourself again.

My work as a counsellor is deeply shaped by personal experience.
I have been both a patient and a carer, and I understand how vulnerable and isolating these roles can feel. Counselling supported me through the long lasting impact of cancer treatment โ including fatigue, brain fog, change to identity and femininity, and the emotional toll of holding family life together during that time.
Therapy also helped me to process painful experiences from childhood that left me feeling undervalued, ashamed, and disconnected from who I truly was. Through this work, I developed resilience, emotional understanding, and self-help skills that continue to support me today.
These experiences inspired me to train as a counsellor, and it is a privilege to walk alongside others as they navigate their own difficult chapters.

How I Work
My Approach
I provide a safe, non-judgemental therapeutic relationship where you are free to express whatever you are feeling.
After an initial assessment, we will explore:
- What feels most important to you
- How your difficulties are affecting your day-to-day life
- Patterns you may want to understand or change
- The direction youโd like your life to move in
I work integratively, drawing on different therapeutic approaches to suit your individual needs. Sessions can be short-term or longer-term, depending on what feels most helpful for you.
We may also explore gentle self-care and self-help strategies to support you between sessions, helping you to feel more in control and better able to manage daily life.
Working Together
Therapy can help you gently explore what youโve been carrying, understand where your difficulties come from, and find ways to cope that feel realistic for your life right now.
Together, we may work towards:
- Feeling calmer and less overwhelmed
- Reducing anxiety, worry, and emotional exhaustion
- Processing grief, loss, or health-related trauma
- Rebuilding confidence and emotional strength
- Feeling more connected to who you are and what matters to you
I work at a pace that feels fight for you, offering support that meets you where you are โ without pressure or expectation.
