Specialising in Therapeutic Support for Children & Teens

My name is Sarah and I specialise in supporting children (10+) and teens who feel anxious, find school difficult, struggle with friendships or family relationships, or are living with ADHD or Autism. I also work with adults who feel worried, low in mood, stuck in sadness, or are healing from difficult past experiences. Together letโ€™s build confidence, resilience, and emotional wellbeing.

I am an experienced, multi-disciplined therapist specialising in child and family work, with over 16 years dedicated to supporting childrenโ€s emotional wellbeing. My journey began with Relax Kids and Forest School, before moving into counselling and establishing my own private pratice, over 10 years ago. Since then, I have worked extensively across schools in North Lincolnshire, offering one-to-one sessions for children from Year 1 upwards, extending my practice to children, family, university students and adults in a private setting.

    How I Work

    About Me

I hold a FdA in Counselling (University of Hull) and a BSc in Health and Social Care (University of Lincoln), alongside specialist training in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP Levels 1 and 2). My experience includes working with foster and adoption families in Hull, where I developed systemic insight into attachment and relational healing. (Below is a full overview of my qualifications to date).

In 2021, I was invited to write and deliver a 10-week Creative Arts course on understanding mental health for Key Stage 1-3 children affected by domestic violence, in collaboration with the Hull DAP team. This project reflects my passion for combining creativity with therapeutic practice to make emotional wellbeing accessible and empowering.

I also hold a City and Guilds Level 3 qualification in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector, which enriches my ability to understand childrenโ€™s learning stile and support them in building confidence and self-esteem. This is particularly valuable when working with neurodiverse children โ€“ around 90% of my clients are ADHD, ASD, or AuDHD โ€“ helping them explore identity, improve learning outcomes, and thrive in both educational and personal contexts.

My practice is grounded in empathy, creativity, and a commitment to helping children and families flourish.

Supporting you, online or face-to-face therapy

Sometimes the difficulty isnโ€™t just within one person.

It shows up in relationships โ€“ in communication, in conflict, in distance, or in patterns that seem to repeat over time.

You might find yourself having the same conversations again and again, feeling misunderstood, or unsure how things became this way.

    • Safeguarding Everyone Level 2

I work with adults, couples and families, with a focus on how relationships and patterns develop โ€“ and how they begin to shift.

    This might include:

    • ongoing conflict and tension
    • communication breaking down
    • feeling unheard or misunderstood
    • relationship strain or separation
    • difficulties between parents and children
    • patterns that repeat across relationships

Rather than looking at one person in isolation, we explore whatโ€™s happening between people โ€“ helping you understand the patterns underneath and find different ways forward.

    How I Work

    Who this is for

This work can be helpful if:

you want to understand why things feel this way, not just cope with them

things feel stuck between you and someone important

the same issues keep coming up in your relationship

    communication feels difficult or strained

youโ€™re navigating change within your family or relationship

How I Support Children & Young People

My approach is calm, collaborative and thoughtful.

We work at a pace that feels manageable, creating space to understand whatโ€™s happening beneath the surface โ€“ not just whatโ€™s visible day to day.

Thereโ€™s no pressure to have everything figured out. We begin with where you are.

    Online or face-to-face

Online working is a central part of how I practice โ€“ not simply an alternative, but an equally powerful way to create a focused, contained therapeutic space. Many people find that online sessions feel just as meaningful and effective as meeting in person, with the added benefits of flexibility and comfort.

Whether we meet in person or online, my approach remains the same: helping individuals, couples and families explore patterns and dynamics, understand relationships in real time, and create lasting change โ€“ in whichever environment feels right for you.

Specialising in Relationships/Family difficulties and Clinical Counselling Supervisor

My name is Lisa and I am a qualified couples and family therapist. I do also offer individual appointments especially if the reasons are relational.

One of the common themes that I often recognise when working with more than one person in the therapy room is the lack of or misunderstanding of communication between couples/families/friends or even work colleagues. As people we often assume that the person we are communicating with knows and understands how we are thinking and feeling but this is often not the case and can stop us from having conversations and expressing our thoughts and feelings which in turn can result in communication breakdown and sadly lead to relationship difficulties.

I work systemically which means during the counselling session we would explore all areas of your life including, environment as well as other external and internal factors such as your own values and beliefs.

    How I Work

    Domestic Abuse/Narcissistic Abuse/Coercive Control

Living with historical domestic abuse, narcissistic abuse or coercive control, no matter how long ago it was, can erode your confidence, sense of reality and emotional safety. You may have learnt to keep the peace, minimise your needs, second-guess yourself or carry guilt and shame that were never yours to hold. Whether the abuse was emotional, psychological, financial or physical, the impact can stay long after the relationship ends โ€“ leaving you feeling confused, exhausted, isolated or unsure who you are anymore. Therapy offers a safe, steady and non-judgemental space to piece things together, rebuild self-trust, understand the patterns youโ€™ve survived, and begin to heal. You donโ€™t have to go through this alone. Support is available and you deserve to feel safe, respected and in control of your own life again.

    Clinical Supervision

As a Clinical Counselling Supervisor, I provide a reflective, supportive and collaborative space for therapists and trainee counsellors to explore their work safely and confidently.

Supervision with me offers a balance of encouragement, professional challenge and grounding guidance, helping you deepen your clinical thinking, strengthen ethical practice and feel steady in the work you do. Whether you are newly qualified, in training or an experienced practitioner, supervision is a place to develop your skills, process what you hold for clients, and maintain your own wellbeing. My systemic approach allows us to look at both client dynamics and the wider context impacting the therapeutic relationship, ensuring your work remains ethical, effective and inspired.

    Pre-trial Therapy

Saturday appointments are available for clients who are victims or witnesses to a crime. My work is client centred, providing emotional support and to help you with your thoughts and feelings, which can be upsetting and leave you feeling unheard and invisible.

I also offer counselling to clients, over 18 years, who have been on Jury Service. Having been on it myself I am aware of what can and cannot be discussed. I am also mindful that being a juror can be unsettling and leave you with a mixture of emotions, including guilt, anger and sadness.

    Meet Chandel

Specialising in Couples, Families and Young People

Most couples donโ€™t arrive in therapy because everything is broken. They come because communication has become strained, trust feels uncertain, or life changes have placed pressure on the relationship.

You might be finding the same arguments keep repeating. That conversation quickly turns into conflict or silence. Parenting, stress, past experiences or unmet needs are sitting between you. Or that youโ€™re unsure whether the relationship can change โ€“ or whether separation might be the next step.

Iโ€™m Chandel, a registered BACP counsellor and trainee CORST therapist, specialising in working with couples and families navigating the realities of modern relationships, including communication difficulties, separation, trust breaches, parenting conflict, and the emotional impact of change and loss.

    How I Work

    My Approach

My approach is integrative and relational, helping clients explore both the practical patterns shaping their relationships and the emotional experiences influencing how the respond to one another.

I offer a reflective, compassionate and professional space to make sense of whatโ€™s happening, develop healthier ways of communicating, and rebuild trust where possible. My work is grounded in ethical, inclusive and culturally sensitive practice, with attention to to how to identify, culture, trauma, sexuality, disability, and neurodivergence shape our relational lives.

Chandel also works with young people, offering a calm and supportive space to explore whatever may be feeling difficult or confusing. She works thoughtfully with teenagers and young adults who may be struggling with emotions, relationships, identity, or feeling under pressure, helping them make sense of their experiences at their own pace.

    Family and wider relational work

Alongside couples therapy, I am experienced in supporting families through:

    • Co-parenting challenges and parenting conflict
    • Blended and complex family systems
    • Extended family and in-law dynamics
    • Intergenerational patterns that influence present relationships
    • Family court proceedings and parental alienation

My role is to walk alongside you โ€“ helping you understand patterns, emotions and reactions, and supporting practical changes that can be carried into everyday life beyond the therapy room.

Over time, this process can help you feel more grounded, more in control, and more connected โ€“ both to yourself and to one another.

    Working Together

In couples therapy, my role is not to take sides or decide who is right or wrong. My focus is on creating a calm, balanced space where both voices are heard and difficult conversations can take place more safely.

    Together we may work to:

    • Understand repeating patterns of conflict, distance or shutdown
    • Improve communication and emotional understanding
    • explore the impact of trust breaches and affairs
    • Reduce blame and increase clarity and compassion
    • Support reconnection, clearer boundaries, or separation with care

You do not need to know the outcome before starting. Therapy can help you slow things down, think more clearly, and decide together what feels right.
